Feasibility & Cost Modelling

Know the Numbers Before You Commit Capital

An independent, technology-agnostic feasibility study built on your own half-hourly data — modelling whole-life cost, carbon and payback so you invest in the right measures, in the right order.

What You Need to Know

A feasibility study is the foundation of every sound energy decision. Before anyone quotes you for a battery, a CHP unit or a solar array, you need to understand which measures actually pay back on your site, how they interact, and what they do to your cost, carbon and resilience over the asset's whole life.

Skyline's feasibility and cost modelling is deliberately technology-agnostic. We don't sell a single product, so the model tells you what your site needs — not what a supplier wants to sell. Every figure is built from your own consumption data and clearly flagged as indicative and subject to detailed design.

Feasibility & Cost Modelling for UK commercial and industrial sites

Every option, ranked on your data

We model each viable measure — and combinations of them — against your real demand profile, then rank them on whole-life return so you invest in the right order.

Why It Matters

Most stalled or underperforming energy projects share the same root cause: a decision made without an independent, data-led business case.

Capital at risk

Six- and seven-figure capex committed on a supplier's headline payback figure, with no independent model of how the asset performs against your actual load.

Vendor bias

Every installer recommends the technology they sell. Without a neutral study, it is impossible to know whether solar, storage, CHP or simply better controls is the right first move.

Stranded or oversized assets

Systems sized on rules of thumb rather than interval data are routinely too big, too small, or blocked by a grid connection nobody checked first.

No whole-life view

A short payback can hide poor lifetime returns once degradation, maintenance, tariff change and carbon pricing are accounted for.

Our Delivery Process

Every study follows the same disciplined, evidence-led process. We start with your data and finish with a clear, ranked recommendation you can take to the board.

1

Data gathering & baseline

We collect 12 months of half-hourly interval data, recent bills, site plans and any load-growth plans, then build an accurate baseline of how, when and why your site uses energy.

2

Options modelling

We model each viable measure — and combinations of them — against your real demand profile, quantifying cost, carbon and resilience impact for every scenario.

3

Financial analysis

Each scenario is run through whole-life cost, simple payback, NPV and IRR analysis, with sensitivity testing against tariff and capex assumptions.

4

Report & recommendation

You receive a board-ready report with a ranked, phased recommendation: what to do first, what it costs, what it returns, and what to keep under review.

What we need from you

A robust model needs real inputs. The more of the following you can share, the sharper the study — but we can start from bills alone and request the rest.

  • 12 months of half-hourly (interval) electricity data — we can request this from your supplier or MOP on your behalf
  • Recent electricity and gas bills, including all standing and capacity charges
  • A site plan or roof layout, and details of available land or plant space
  • Your current Maximum Import Capacity (MIC) and any known grid constraints
  • Any planned changes — EV fleets, production growth, new lines or expansion
